Academy of Integrative Medicine and Health Conference Question

Attending the AIMH conference brings up many challenges to providing safe, evidence based care and treatment to Americans.  1) Medical providers are limited in understanding integrative whole-person care due to their lack of training during academia and experience after.  Outside their network they do not know how to effectively connect with and refer to: naturopathic doctors (ND), acupuncturist (LAc), health coaches, counselors, nutritionist (RD), stress management counselors and programs (yoga, guided meditation, fitness), etc.  Inside their network challenges include working inter-professionally and having specialists on their team who collaborate in support of their patient: endocrinology, orthopedics, oncology, cardiology, dentistry, etc.  Do you believe this is an issue and if so, what are the solutions?
